ENGLISH FOR EMAILS

Increasingly the area of diplomatic language has come up in conversation with our clients. Typically, the UK and US approach to emails and conversation tends to be 'less direct' than in some other cultures. Many of you might already have come across such expressions as ''If it is not too much trouble, would you be so kind as to....” or “Would it be at all possible to...”! The British are well-known for not saying exactly what they think which can create confusion and frustration for others. In this course we look at providing our clients with important phrases used in disagreeing, making suggestions, asking for permission and being sensitive when dealing with differences of opinion. At the same time we also offer a cultural insight into doing business with British and American clients.
